I’m back from the depths of my study cave and just as I emerge the mercury drops to some ridiculous number and it’s seriously cold out. Joyous. Don’t get me wrong; I love rugging up for winter, but there are only so many winter black ensembles a girl can rock. Last weekend I was left freezing my behind off at a party because I failed to dress the winter part. Whilst shivering uncontrollably I realised some funky weather appropriate gear was in order. So without further redo, here are some ways to look hot when it’s certainly not.
Avoid the winter blues by making your sunglasses reflective. Adds a fun twist to even the most boring of looks. Ray Ban does them well in sexy blue, red and green shades.
Scarves not only keep your neck ridiculously cozy, but if you play your cards right they can add serious fashion cred, just look at fellow scarf addict Nicole Richie. Shop some truly chic ones at Seed Heritage.
On those really cold days, skirts and tights just aint gonna cut it. Take a cue from Miranda Kerr and Olivia P and keep your pins warm (but not dull) in a pair of printed jeans. Paige Denim and J Brand are always winners.
This season has presented us earth-dwellers with a plethora of awesome jumpers like this green Kenzo number, so please, take advantage. Sass and Bide is a fail safe for a totally luxe knit, and their new season metallic turtle neck is out of this world.
Faux fur coats
These coats equal your cold weather lifesavers. Wear whatever you want under it and you will still be 126% warm. I picked up mine at the markets (the best place for a fur jacket if you ask me) but Princess Polly have some equally fine woolly numbers.
Think you’re jeans and cardi combo is snore inducing yet your wrists and neck are too covered in layers to be adorned? Fear not! Add a pair of spicy earrings or an ear cuff and problem solved! If you have cash to splash Dannijo and Ryan Storer are the holy grail of cool jewels, but if you’re looking for something a little more wallet friendly, hit up Sportsgirl.
Banish boring wintertime outfits and still keep warm? I’m in!
